There will also be a position on the SAG for a Student Voice; one student from each league will be included in the annual meeting at the Outdoor Championships to express their views.

  • Indoor/Outdoor Technical Delegate - Main liaison for the Indoor/Outdoor BUCS Championships, overseeing the organisation and running of the event.
  • Performance Advisor - To work with ArcheryGB to have our to student archers involved at National and International level.
  • Participation Advisor - To support and increase participation in university archery and oversee competition formats.
  • Communications Advisor - To write press releases for publication to promote the events and increase awareness of student archery

SAG Member Bios

Steven Johnson

Steven attended Birmingham University and was captain and secretary of the archery club and remains passionate about the sport and university archery. Steven has been advising BUCS for a number of years as a member of the sports advisory group.

Kieran Dexter

Kieran is an alumni of MMU Cheshire. He stepped in last year as technical delegate at BUCS Indoor last year due to the his predecessor having work commitments. He is a member of the national tournaments field party and also a Regional level judge.

Richard Anderson

Richard is a Loughborough alumni, he has a long experience of assisting with the BUTTS and BUCS events previously. He is also a member of the ArcheryGB National tournaments field party. He wants to see more involvement with novices at the outdoor championships.

Nicola McCullogh

Nicola is a alumni of Durham and Northumbria. She is a level 2 archery coach and has a strong experience of interaction with disabled archers. She wants to increase the particiption of disabled archers in university clubs and at the BUCS competitions.

Alistair Whittingham

Alistair is an Edinburgh alumni and still coaches the Edinburgh team. He is coach for many top level archers in the country and abroad. He attended the last University world championships as the compound coach for GB and bring a huge wealth of experience and influence to the group.

Bethany Woodcock

Huddersfield and York Alumnus, Bethnay is a former treasurer and current organiser of the NEUAL league, with strong links to Archery GB. Former winner of the ontarget Young Volunteer of the Year Award.

David Williams

David is a PhD student at Southampton, he has been in archery for 4 years and assisted with BUTC 2014. He is a level 1 coach and the only SEAL archer to be on the SAG in the last 6 years. He wants to enable closer collaboration between Universities to help smaller university clubs.
