New season ready to go [17/Sep/14]

It's mid September and the 2014/15 season is now more or less off and running, with clubs all over the country recruiting at Freshers Fairs and Beginner Events and the like. As always, the UKSAA website extends its best wishes to all clubs at this busy time of year.

Looking ahead, bidding for the 2015 BUCS Indoors is open, as is bidding for BUTC. Clubs wishing to host the BUCS Indoors will need to submit a bid by Wednesday 1st October. Bids and any questions to bucsarcherychair@gmail.com. The 2013 and 2014 events were organised by SSS and BUTTS respectively rather than by a single club. The 2015 event will be in Telford on Saturday 7th February, where Nottingham will go for a four in a row. Also a reminder that senior team structure is changing from (mixed) team of 4 to separate men's and women's teams of 3. Novice teams are unchanged. BUCS points will be available to the top 8 senior men's and women's teams.

Bids to host BUTC should be sent to the UKSAA by Wednesday 8th October. For info on the bidding process, see the BUTC section. Oxford are the defending champions here and will be gunning for a hat-trick. The most likely dates for BUTC are 21st February and 7th March.

The regional league fixtures don't tend to kick off until early November, although the BUTTS Field Champs take place at March Hare Archers in Worcestershire on this Sunday. League organisers Bethany Woodcock, Stephen Fawcett and Douglas Jardine stay on from last year and are joined by Adam Peers (Loughborough) and Emily Williams (South Wales).

In terms of the leagues themselves and new clubs/joinees, Teesside, Newcastle (both NEUAL), East Anglia (SEAL) and Cardiff (SWWU) have definitely signed up to league action, with West of Scotland (SSS) and Bristol (SWWU) likely to do so as well. NEUAL and BUTTS action kicks off on the weekend of the 8th and 9th November. The E-League is already in action - first round scores due by 5th November.

Slightly off topic, but do remember that UKSAA is also on Facebook and Twitter, so like and follow for the full interactive experience.
