Calendars and Clubs [04/Oct/07]
All five Regional League calendars have been published as they stand and will be collated together on the Calendar page shortly or once there are more dates attached. There still a few potential clashes especially since the date for BUSA Indoors is still yet to be confirmed. It is intended that BUTC be kept at least a fortnight away from BUSA Indoors, so one date will determine the other. At the moment, Southampton v Surrey v London on Sat 3rd Nov is the first fixture of the season, with Nottingham v Birmingham v Oxford v Cambridge the following day
In club news, it looks as though there are new clubs being formed at Bristol and Essex Unis. Both universities have had successful clubs in the distant past, but both are starting from scratch in 2007. Individual contacts are also available in the Club Info section, Ben Hunt is your man in Bristol, on bh7781@@bristol.ac.uk with Karlis Zivtins at Essex on karliszivtins@@hotmail.com. Good luck to both of those start-ups. Sadly, listings for clubs at De Montfort, Plymouth and Sheffield Hallam have been removed.
[Update 12/Oct/07] I have found the website of an existing club at Aston University, in Birmingham. Simon Gregg greggs@@aston.ac.uk is the club President.
[2nd Update 17/Oct/07] Unfortunately the new club at Bristol is on ice for the time being.
In other news, Aberystwyth, Bangor and Swansea can now drop the "UW" from their names as all three institutions have left the University of Wales umbrella, see this article on BBC News, Three Universities go independent.
