SEAL 2 shakes up table [06/Dec/23]

Before we get fully into the SEAL match that took place over the weekend of the 2nd/3rd December, a word about BUTC. Since the emergency appeal for hosts, three clubs have come forward and organisers are working with them to ensure the event goes ahead. More info will be published ASAP. Also a reminder that the E-League score submission deadline for the November round is 7th December.

Imperial were shooting in the last section of SEAL match 2, taking place on Sunday evening,. They overtook everyone with a score of 2175. Southampton's tally of 2120 secured them second spot, an improvement of over 100 points (and 4 places) on match 1. Third place went to Surrey who were 2 points under the 2100 mark. Behind Surrey however, the drop to fourth place was a whopping 205. Anglia Ruskin lead the chasing pack, pipping Portsmouth by only 6. East Anglia, who were second in match 1, did not shoot in this match. Top scorers in match 2 were Yin Chan (Imperial) on 571 and Min Seok Kim (Southampton) on 568.

Imperial (3rd & 1st) and Surrey (1st & 3rd) now both have 28 points, with Imperial top 4292 v 4252 on match aggregate. Southampton's improvement in match 2 sees them jump 3 places to 3rd. UEA plunge from 2nd to 10th out of 15.

In the novice match, Southampton ran out comfortable winners on 1343, including top novice in the match Ryan Gunther-Leece who scored 488. Brunel were second ahead of London. Brunel stay top on 29 point, with Southampton now second on 27.

The remaining student fixtures of 2023 all take place next weekend: the third and final slice of TOUCAN match 1, SWWU match 4 (a Frostbite) and the NEUAL Novice Champs, which will count as both a NEUAL Novice and Unsighted league match.
