BUTC and E-League latest [29/Nov/23]

The deadline for bids to host BUTC 2024 has passed, with no bids received. We had discussions with two clubs that had expressed interest. However both have had to withdraw for local reasons. With no venue, BUTC 2024 cannot currently go ahead. We are therefore making an emergency appeal for potential hosts. If your club thinks it might have a suitable venue - joint bids are welcome too - then please contact UKSAA ukstudentarchery@@gmail.com ASAP. Experience of hosting big events is less important than you would suppose - the central organising team will help you all the way.

Results from Round 1 of the E-League are out on the E-League website. Kicking off the 2023/24 campaign, Oxford have convicingly taken first place in round 1. Birmingham were second, with Leeds just behind in third. Southampton, Leicester, Surrey, Huddersfield and Royal Holloway occupied positions 4th down to 8th. Surrey lead the novice standings.

Oxford delivered a 1-2-3 in Round 1's gents recurve standings as Yang Pei, Adam Bates (both Oxford) were first and second. Callum Henfrey (Oxford) took third place from Minseok Kim (Southampton) on golds. Megan Costall (Birmingham) won ladies recurve round 1, with Ecaterina Pogorenii (Oxford) in second. Mollie Bower (Huddersfield) and Roisin Mooney (Bristol) were third and fourth. Top barebows were Daniel Kilgallon (UCLan) and Kathryn Morton (Ulster).

There were "only" 18 clubs eligible for a result in overall Division 1. Clubs who haven't entered in Round 1 are still strongly encouraged to enter the remaining rounds. Round 2 is November, so scores have to have been shot in November and submitted by 7th December. Round 3 covers December and January. See E-League section for details and links.

Results from SSS match 3, SWWU match 3 and NEUAL match 1 saw wins for Dundee, Bath and Sheffield. Full reviews will appear here shortly.
